FreeBSD . . .7.0-RELEASE FreeBSD 7.0-RELEASE #0: Sun Feb 24 19:59:52 UTC 2008 root at logan.cse.buffalo.edu:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC i386

>Description:
I bought a "noname" USB Ethernet adapter. I plugged it in a USB slot and the system reported "DM9601 USB NNC Davicom CO., LTD". The udav driver is supposed to support the Davicom DM9601 but doesn't support the device I have.

>How-To-Repeat:

>Fix:
I applied the changes in revision 1.35 of src/sys/dev/usb/if_udav.c and revision 1.348 of src/sys/dev/usb/usbdevs to if_udav.c and the new driver recognised the USB Ethernet adapter.

This change is applicable to both FreeBSD version 6.3 and version 7.0.
