system locks-up when scrolling down or up with usb mouse

I have just installed FreeBSD 6.2 amd64 on my Athlon 64 3500 system.
when I enter gdm or kde environment everything is ok but when it comes to scroll down on any window my system locks up.
Whould u please help me with this problem.
