I just tested against

FreeBSD testido2 6.3-PRERELEASE FreeBSD 6.3-PRERELEASE #0: Fri Nov 16 14:54:31 MET 2007     root at testido2:/usr/src/sys/i386/compile/JL-TESTIDO2  i386

and was NOT able to reproduce the problem. Whereas with

FreeBSD tende 6.2-STABLE FreeBSD 6.2-STABLE #0: Mon Jun 11 16:30:26 MEST 2007     root at bodensee:/usr/src/sys/i386/compile/JL-FS-neu-SCSI  i386

the deadlock showed up after milliseconds.
So some of the numerous changes made the problem go way.

Do you need a more specific description of the change? It might
take some time to narrow it down.
