 looking at the debugging output it seemed to hang at
 
 Apr 17 03:36:52 hobo kernel: (probe0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): INQUIRY. CDB: 12 1 80 0 ff 0
 
 retrying the INQUIRY 3 time which took about 10mins to finish on my X40.
 
 Attached patches work arround the issue by enabling the  NO_INQUIRY_EVPD
 for the Device. I'd like to see some more owners of that particular device
 test the patch, which is against 6.2-RELEASE-p3 (not tracking CURRENT,sry).
 
 I'd didn't have the time yet to try how kern/107495 would fit in as a 
 solution to the issue.
