the 'convert' utility dumps core if given a command line like 'convert myimage -background'   (i would have reported it to ImageMagick directly, but they require joining their bugs mailing list prior to reporting bugs, and i would rather not do that)

convert existing-image.png -background

the problem only occurs with an invalid command line -- "So don't do that!"
