Interrupt storm caused by ehci escapes storm protection

Hello,
I haved detected a problem with device ehci on this amd64 laptop, for which
I have already sent a problem report for the usb team (usb/93640).
A question remains. Device ehci generates on this system an interrupt storm
of 60000 interrupts per second. This should be throttled by kernel interrupt
storm protection (on kern/kern_intr.c), but isn't, and the ISR starves the
system, rendering it as slow as an old 386 25MHz.
The message "Interrupt storm detected on %s; throttling interrupt source."
never appears on the console. This problem happens on all versions after 6.0
with a stock GENERIC kernel.
Should I send a separate problem report for the failure of storm protection?
