RAID problem

Hi,

I'm having strange problem with FreeBSD-6.0 using hardware RAID. 
First I tried using adaptec 2120S and while the raid5 array is having
build/verify process, the box will hang, same thing with LSI logic on
IBM 335, whenever raid1 finished mirroring the disk, the system will
hang.

Is there an issue with the hardware raid on freebsd?  I would
appreciate if any will give some explanation/workaround on my problem.
