 Had a problem similar to this and its fixed by updating
 to v1.14 version of the highpoint driver. This includes
 a fix for a boundary condition error on specific large
 disks which may well be triggered by the test mentioned,
 it certainly creates the same error message.
 
 The new driver version can be found on highpoints site.
