FreeBSD euphrates.ben.algroup.co.uk 6.0-STABLE FreeBSD 6.0-STABLE #1: Tue Dec 20 16:24:38 GMT 2005 root at euphrates.ben.algroup.co.uk:/disk1.1/usr/src/sys/i386/compile/EUPHRATES i386

I'm using an INTEL D865GLC mobo, which has an AC97 on board. Playing audio using xmms through it sounds terrible (it sounds like its overdriving the amp).

I disabled it and put in:

pcm0: <CMedia CMI8738> port 0xb800-0xb8ff irq 17 at device 2.0 on pci1

and it all works fine with the rest of the setup unchanged.
