 It sounds like there is a bug in the driver for your network interface.
 
 I have a 3Com 3c905B-TX, and a 80GB Maxtor and both works fine under
 FreeBSD 5.2RC.
 
 Could you please try 5.2RC2 (or the upcomming 5.2-RELEASE) and see if
 the problem still exists?
