The problem also exists on 5.x.

System locks up hard after probing pcm if enabled.

Boot with pcm enabled on a Dell Latitude LS w/ MagicMedia 256AV audio.

>Fix:

commenting out nm_wr(sc, 0x6cc, 0x87, 1); in nm_initcd() stops the hang.
