 Note that when you have the following kernel options enabled,
  options WITNESS
  options WITNESS_SKIPSPIN
 the kernel doesn't panic, or it takes much longer than it does when
 these options disabled. Usually, non-witness'ed kernel panics when
 the directory grows to about 3Mbytes, but with witness'ed kernel
 the directory grew to 7Mbytes and it still survived.
