Wiimote as a mouse replacement?

That's the reason why I ask, I got one on my birthday and now I'm
setting up my home cinema. So I would have use for this now (first I
have to setup the X server on the machine in question, before I can
give it a try)...
It would be great if it is possible out of the box. I've found a
program for linux which translates button presses and movements into
Xinput data (http://www.resplect.com/xwii/), but as I haven't setup
the machine I want to use there yet, I didn't even downloaded it yet.

37 EUR for the Wiimote here in Germany (39 if you want to get WiiPlay
too). For a loudspeaker, acceleration sensors, an infra-red ccd and
some buttons in a nice design I would say it is not expensive. The
possibilities this offers are woth the price IMO.
I'm looking forward to any results you get with playing with FreeBSD+Wii.
