tmp and tmpfs

context is rpi4 running very recent -current.

Which is faster/better? /tmp mounted as tmpfs as per default on rpi2/3/4, or /tmp as zfs on a usb3-connected spinning rust hd? I understand that if tmpfs fills up, it'll use swap. Faster/slower than /tmp on zfs?

Spinning rust is also where the swap partition lives.
