RPi-B: lang/go fails to build with SIGFPE

Has anyone tried to build lang/go on RPi-B lately? The build aborts with SIGFPE on a vmrs instruction on 12.1-RELEASE, 12-STABLE and 13-CURRENT for me. Works on RPi-2 with 12.1-RELEASE. I have already opened an issue[0] on go's github, but without a solution so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
