Using WITHOUT_SYSTEM_COMPILER=yes allowed buildworld to complete, although
there have been irreproducible successes in the past, so I can't be sure
it was the decisive adjustment. Chance has played a role in the past.

In any case uname -a now reports
FreeBSD www.zefox.com 12.0-CURRENT FreeBSD 12.0-CURRENT #1 r325420: Mon Nov  6 07:27:29 PST 2017     bob at www.zefox.com:/usr/obj/usr/src/arm.armv7/sys/RPI2  arm

and uname -p reports
armv7

which is vast progress. Sources are updated and world is building now.
