vnode(9) update

I find it useful in that it decreases the amount of cross-
referencing I need to do.  (It's great that section 9 in our
manual is reasonably complete these days!)  However, if it's hard
to keep the manpage in sync with the code, or if there's another
good reason to axe it, then by all means do.
