I can not change language for thunderbird 12.0
I have an error in compiling thunderbird-i18n.
cd / usr/ports/mail/thunderbird-i18n
make install clean

My solution

I have a freebsd 8.2
I retrieve /usr/local/lib/xpi 
and I replace in freebsd 9.0
