I get the above on kldload of hwpmc on my Xeon 5120 based system

hw.machine: amd64
hw.model: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU            5120  @ 1.86GHz
hw.ncpu: 4

kldload hwpmc on a Xeon 5xxx series system.

I am willing to give ssh(1) access to a developer, as well as having the 
current Intel Doc. 

I'm willing to help figure out what needs done, but pointers would be
useful.
