Some of the bugs are still there, I am quite certain of that.

Hm, well, the problem is that Alpha never had enough developers
working on it to keep critical mass. Combine that with the
wide variation of hardware, each with their own peculiarities and
you have a less than desirable situation.
That said, I will try to go through GNATS and see if I can do
some janitoring.
