Hello,

I'm getting the above error when trying to install FreeBSD on an HP AlphaServer DS15 (1gig cpu, 512meg memory, 36gig hd, dvd/cdrom, no floppy) from cdrom.

another thread seemed to indicate it was a media problem, but the drive reads fine from openVMS and the cdrom reads fine in my laptop.

The boot looks something like this:

quote:

>>> boot dqa0 -FLAGS "-FILE"
