Hello,
I installed FreeBSD-4.8 on XP1000 and the floppy drive is working
flawlessy, it works perfectly.
So probably it's a FreeBSD 5.0 issue which makes the device fdc0 not
working I guess, but it's a guess of someone who knows nothing about
FreeBSD kernel internals. Anyway someone might be interested
to look into this issue maybe.
Here is FreeBSD-4.8

fdc0: <NEC 72065B or clone> at port 0x3f0-0x3f5,0x3f7 irq 6 drq 2 on isa0
fdc0: interrupting at ISA irq 6
fdc0: FIFO enabled, 8 bytes threshold
fd0: <1440-KB 3.5" drive> on fdc0 drive 0

on FreeBSD-5.0 kernel message stops at:
fdc0: <NEC 72065B or clone> at port 0x3f0-0x3f5,0x3f7 irq 6 drq 2 on isa0
fdc0: interrupting at ISA irq 6

and does not enable the device.

thanks

Rick
