Hackontest is a 24 hour programming competition between teams of three open source software projects. The event takes place at OpenExpo on September 24/25, 2008 in Zurich, Switzerland.

The awards at a glance 
Swissness Award 

This award encourages a FOSS project with relevant Swiss participation. 

Business Award 

This award goes to a FOSS service providers, the above competently and generously FOSS projects supported or proprietary software under an open-source license frees. 

Pioneer Award 

This is a company or public institution to be awarded, the FOSS over proprietary software, and gives preference to the use of FOSS to lead by example. 

Advocacy Award 

This award goes to a person, especially to the promotion of FOSS deserves to be funded. 

Youth Award 

With this prize, the young should be encouraged. The award goes to a person in training, in this framework for FOSS use, whether in the training topics or teaching at the site itself.
