I wish people would stop refering to beastie as "the old logo" beastie
was never a logo.
It was simply a mascot, nothing more, nothing less. The closest thing we
had to a "logo"
was the incorporation of beastie and "FreeBSD: The Power to Serve" which
is quite dated
and reminds me old the old days far too much. The "New" logo is
mainstream, looks clean,
has a lot of potential. Of course the new logo doesnt look good in black
and white, its a full
color logo. its not supposed to look good in grayscale. The person who
designed this new concept
also provided a 2 color design, which would look fine as black and
white. My 2 cents.
