ACPI info on Dell i8500

Unload/disable as many drivers as you can, especially uhci.
sysctl hw.acpi.sleep_delay=0

Try things suggested in the handbook:
http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/acpi-debug.html

sysctl hw.acpi.cpu.cx_lowest=C4 will give you more power/heat savings.
If that works, change the performance setting in rc.conf.
