Ok, I think that's it for the post-branch updates except for newvers.sh
which I'll do just before we're ready for the RC.

I'm going to wait a day to see if anyone notices something I've
forgotten or anything I might have messed up.  If nothing surfaces we'll
start the RC builds tomorrow.
