There is a core for freebsd that is active.  People write us all the
time and we do do things.  Don't let your grumpiness put down that
good work.  It just so happens that lately people have been behaving
very well so we've not needed to do much.  It really is a good turn of
events that all committers should be proud of.

Having said that, the trb would likely be a better place for this sort
of dispute.  There's technical arguments on both sides that make sense
and someone needs to take a good hard look at it to decide which side
is right.
