Were these patches submitted upstream?  We try to avoid maintaining
extra functionality in our ports tree: doing so lowers interoperability
and compatibility among other *nix distributions for cost of maintaining
hostile code.  If those patches are useful, they better be integrated by
xpdf authors/maintainers.
