R/W CDROM

Greetings,
can anyone recommend a R/W CDROM drive
that will work properly with the aic7xxx
driver? I tried a HP SureStore CD Writer 4020
and it hangs the bus during boot up.

My hardware is:
AIC7895 on an Intel Dakota motherboard.
i686 processor.
RedHat Linux 2.2.14-5.0
