Linux 6.1 doesn't tell us what distribution (ie, Red Hat, SUSE, Mandrake, etc.)
you are using. If you meant Red Hat, I thought I ran 6.0 and 6.1 on my
LX440GX+ motherboard with the 7896 scsi controller, but certainly 6.2 ran fine
(I did have a problem with the builtin video card confusing the Red Hat
installer when I used a secondary PCI video card, which caused me to switch to
an ASUS P2-DSD motherboard.
With scsi devices, getting the resetting message, often times means you need to
pay attention to the termination on the scsi bus(es).
