AHA-2940UW, DLT, alpha & aic driver

Small comment to add here...  I had the same troubles with 2 2940UW Pro
adapters, that being them not seeing a Sony DDS3 date tape... on boot in the
SCSI controller BIOS.  In Linux the device is just fine.  Looking around in
DejaNews, there are untold problems that people have with the 2940UWPro.  I've
since junked the cards.  I don't know if there's a conflict between the card
and the Sony tape,  but the tape works fine on a 2930CU that I had in the desk
and am using until I find a card to replace the UWPro.  

I tend to believe that the drive is and, more importantly, the driver are
fine.  It's the card that is the disastrous and utterly garbled mess.
