aha-2940au, flooding messages log

hi,
 I was wondering if anyone knows what could be triggering this pair of 
messages, one sent to /var/log/messages for every SCSI command.

Jun 29 15:11:03 d0lyfpd kernel: (scsi2:0:2:0) Performing Domain validation. 
Jun 29 15:11:03 d0lyfpd kernel: (scsi2:0:2:0) Successfully completed Domain validation. 

 The driver is being started as a module in conf.modules with the command:
alias scsi_hostadapter aic7xxx

 There is no "verbose" argument being passed to the driver in lilo.conf. 
The system is running a RedHat 2.2.14 kernel.

 Strangely enough, the system user claims that these messages did not
appear until after the network was installed and the mincom driver was
installed. I don't see how there could be a relationship though.

 Any ideas would be appreciated -
