You know, I freely admit that this is likely one of my worst failings. I will
help someone as long as there is a trail to follow. When that trail dries up,
and I'm unable to reproduce the problem, and I can't think of anything to try
to solve the problem, then if you lived in the same town as me I would offer
to come over and work on the machine, but when it's just via email, I think
about it for another week before I finally can't think of anything and your
email has gotten lost. By the time I find your email again (the next time I'm
cleaning out all the cruft from my inbox), it's gotten so late that I don't
reply (this may be 3 or 4 weeks later).
So, you got burned, but only because the symptoms you reported are ones I
could never reproduce and I've got actually very few cases of that problem in
existence.
