That's because you are assuming that this is an aic7xxx driver problem. It
might be, but then again it might not be. The aic7xxx driver relys upon the
mid level SCSI code and the core PCI code in the kernel to set certain things
up properly. In your case, it looks like the card is never getting any
interrupts. Is this an SMP machine? If so, try booting a UP kernel see if it
works.
