mr. johnson,

i apologize for contacting you in such a manner but i am unable to locate an
answer from any other source. i located your name in the aic7xxx patch file on
the linuxhq server and hope you can answer this question. i recently purchased
an adaptec 2930 U controller card and noticed prior to installation that the
2930 U now supports scsi 3 and ultra scsi as well as scsi 1, 2, and fast scsi
2. during bootup the card is recognized and says it is an aha-2930 cu instead
of just u. all installed scsi devices are properly detected and the card
reports the bios is installed successfully. adaptec says this is the c revision
of the 2930 U they just released. the problem is that the aic7xxx module is not
recognizing the card and says scsi hosts detected 0 during my install.
checking the pci data shows an adaptec card is present but has a question mark
for the card information. there is no irq conflicts and i have tried several
pci slots and i have come to the conclusion the problem lies in the module. i
noticed the most recent patch for 2.2.10 now includes support for the 2930U2.
will this patch support my 2930 cu card? any help will be greatly appreciated
in this matter.
