Problems with new AIC7xxx-Driver

I had the same problem. It was resolved by installing a second operating
system (WIN'98) and booting linux with the file aic7xxx by:

sunsite.cnlab-switch.ch/mirror/linux/distributions/SuSE/SuSE-Linux/suse_update/S
.u.S.E.-5.2/disks

my configuration:
pentium II (400MHz), asus P2B/S, aic7890(on board), 9.1Gb IBM SCSI3
