Problem with AIC-7895

Hi, I recently bought a motherboard with one of these onboard, and linux
just will not boot when I have it enabled .. The message I get is:

scsi: aborting due to timeout: pid23, scsi1, channel0, id0, lun 0 Test Unit
Ready 00 00 00 00 00

I've seen a few posts similar to this on the mailing list archive, and those
users have been told to disable Wide Negotiation, however, even after doing
this, I get the same message .. I've got this with versions 5.1.2 and 5.1.4
of the aic-7xxx driver now ..

(PS. I'm not subscribed to the list, so if anyone can help me, can you CC me
directly on it, thanks)

A conclusion is simply the place where you got tired of thinking.
