abort using AHA2940UW with x86 Linux RedHat 5.2 (kernel-2.0.36-pre)

Well, after compiling Linux kernel 2.0.35 (patched with 2.0.36-pre17), the
timeouts went away. Not sure if its a change in the driver code that fixed
it, or if RedHat's compile went screwy (they tend to compile everything in
as modules. If that's the problem, then its probably a linux-kernel
issue.)
