external SCSI disk problems

I am having a similar problem with this same setup where my
drives (using EZ SCSI power management) are powering down
causing problems (modem stops downloading and frozen screensaver)
even though power saving is turned off.  Same exact config except
I attempted to correct it by upgrading to SCSI Bios 1.25 without
any avail.
