Question about cabling.

For what it is worth, Adaptec recommends in all (single initiator) cases that
the controller be the only device supplying termination power to the bus and
that all devices be set up to take termination power from the bus.

If drives are configured to take termination power locally instead of from the
bus, then they should generally not be configured to supply termination power
to the bus.  Drives supplying termination power to the bus can cause problems
when there is more than one drive so configured.
