Pb with BIOS v1.30 chip

Hello,

I've a AHA-2940 AU with BIOS v1.21.
I've ask for a v1.30 BIOS at Adaptek.
When I plug it onto my AHA-2940 AU, I've no BIOS any more machine 
startup, so the PC can't boot on SCSI boot. When booting lilo from a 
floppy, i've no problem to access SCSI disks.
Could someone help me ??
Adaptek says that it has to work, their chip can't be defectious.

Another strange thing is that on old BIOS chip is written
589247-00FR C
BIOS 4100
copyrignt 1996
v1.21

and on the new one,
589247 C
BIOS 2400
copyright 1996
v1.30

Is it the good chip ? What means the difference between BIOS 4100 and 
BIOS 2400 ?
