Ultra scsi drives

I'm running Linux 2.0.31, with an aha2940uw, I'm able to access and boot
up when all the drives but my Quantum Grand Prix Ultra Scsi disk, are on.
(The drive is accessable to 95 and NT, so cable lenght or other hardware
issues aren't a possiblity)
But when this drive is on and I attempt to boot linux, I get spammed by a
host of errors, when the kernel resets the scsi bus, unfortunately they
scroll by too quickly for me to copy down. If the errors are needed I
could copy them down.
Is this a known bug in the driver? or does the driver expect that an ultra
scsi device is also ultra wide?
