Hi,

I'm unable to reproduce the issue here, so this could be difficult to diagnose.

Some more information is required. I need to ask questions and have you make
tests. I don't know what the problem could be, so maybe some things I ask are
not really useful but I need to guess at present and gather some evidence.

I guess from your message that you're using quarterly packages, is this
correct?

Have you tried launching xfce4-appfinder from a terminal emulator? Is there any
output when it fails to run?

have you taken a look at log files? let's start with basic things. Can you find
anything useful in any of the following logs?

/var/log/messages
~/.xsession-errors

Also, do you have made any kind of customization to the xfce/Xorg startup
scripts?

Nothing else comes to mind right now.
