i915 5.10.163 loosing external HDMI screen after a time, problem getting worse

Hi all,

this is happening on a Thinkpad X1 Yoga 3rd Gen.

The external screen is first recognized as usual HDMI-1, but after
a while, faster if the screen goes into powersave, the external
screen vanishes from xrandr output, but mostly stays sort of
operational.

I mainly use keyboard-driven UI, and it's mostly noticeable using
mouse-driven menus, which pop up on the internal screen, quite
annoying.
Since I have to use a lot of mouse-driven apps currently it starts
to really slow down my work.

xrandr of a freshly started system:

As seen, the virtual screen is also shown as disconnected but
works and sort of represents the external monitor and I can use
it, just every menu pops up on the internal screen.

* When did this start?

Since this mainly shows in popups, which I really use rarely, I
cannot say exactly, but it startet probably around March 2022.
Yeah, I'm late, but it took me a while to even figure out what was
going on, and then I got used to it, now I’m forced to use more
GUI programs and it is really annoying.

To Reproduce
Start X11 and work with it :)

Can take anywhere from 10 minutes to maybe two hours.

Additional context:

I'm now on the third HDMI cable.

There is nothing in xorg.conf.d mentioning screen configuration.

I played around with power saving settings, but it didn’t change
anything. My current settings in loader.conf:

# Disable frame buffer compression for power savings, does not
  work
hw.i915kms.enable_fbc=0
hw.i915kms.disable_power_well="-1"
# Just try if guc firmware helps (doesn’t)
hw.i915kms.enable_guc=0
