In my case crucial was right use of xrandr, example: xrandr --output DVI-D-1 --auto xrandr --output VGA-1 --auto xrandr --output VGA-1 --left-of DVI-D-1 While this could not be answer for you, I'd recommend running xrandr with no option, just to see if it offers any usefull info. In any case, I'd like to know how you are using XFCE in multi-monitor scenario. Regards, Milan
