Given the discussion on wireless today (2026-10-21) I should add that iwlwifi.4
currently defines a fallback mechanism (not to that level of detail but where
to get individual firmware files from which can be transferred using umass,4.
https://reviews.freebsd.org/D60254 once reviewed will migrate that text to
linuxkpi_wlan.4 instead as it applies to all LinuxKPI based wireless drivers.
