The  kmod  packages  is  only  shipped  on  the  DVD1   media.
the  "boot-only"  and  DISC1  media  has the  WIFI software
installed  so its possible to setup
    a WIFI connection using BSDinstaller.
If  the  user is not able to supply  all the parameters including
the  AP connection  settings
they will not  have  installed  the  firmware  using  the
BSDinstaller.  Then  the laptop is not
connected  at  all  when  its rebooted after initial install.
Ofcourse   if  the  WIFI chip installed   is  unsupported there
is nothing we can do.
