I'll have to tackle that one day, but it's so rare I'm sure to forget 
between each time how to do it .. :D

I've used variations of the rc.suspend and rc.resume "tricks" for some 
time, but none of them make any real difference. I currently have a 
"service netif restart" in rc.resume; I used to have stop in rc.suspend 
but that sometimes crashed before it even went to sleep (that's a while 
ago).

I've also tried various kldunload and devctl disable combinations, to no 
avail.
