if_iwm.c has a MODULE_PNP_INFO() line so it should autoload by devmatch if you
have neither disabled devmatch nor put iwm on the devmatch_blocklist, e.g., to
try iwlwifi:

   6639 MODULE_PNP_INFO("U16:device;P:#;T:vendor=0x8086", pci, iwm_pci_driver,
   6640     iwm_devices, nitems(iwm_devices));

This is why PCI IDs are helpful:

so you would need:

iwm8000Cfw_load="YES"

in loader.conf if you load the driver from there.
