Today I booted from poweroff and for the first time in many months it 
connected to wifi with 5ghz before I even had time to log in to check.

Not saying all the troubles are gone, but since my last rebuild things 
have certainly improved at least somewhat.

I'll collect logs if/when something goes sideways again.
